Marketing And Promotion

In addition to the beautification and safety of the Sutphin Boulevard area, the BID’s goal is to assist businesses within the District by promoting the area.  This is done through local news media and promotional circulars distributed to the local community and the courts, installing decorative street banners that promote the BID and sponsoring promotional events in the District, especially in the court plazas.

Banner Program

As the BID works to create a brand identity for the area, our banner program, just one aspect of our marketing strategy, encourages business activity within the District. Fifteen two-sided banners are placed throughout the District welcoming visitors to shop and enjoy the amenities that Sutphin Boulevard has to offer. The banner program also helps bring in additional resources to the BID by encouraging sponsors to invest in the program.  The banners are hung during the Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter seasons.

Map & District Guide

The Sutphin Boulevard BID's Map & District Guide is a publication with a listing of every retail establishment within the District.  10,000 guides were printed and distributed throughout the District this year and can be found in the Long Island Rail Road Jamaica Terminal station, at the information kiosks on Jamaica Avenue at Parsons Boulevard, the Jamaica Market on Jamaica Avenue, the BID's main office and through our ambassadors program.
