Welcome to the Sutphin Boulevard BID

Sutphin Boulevard – Jamaica, New York. Sutphin Boulevard connects people to the world. Home to one of the nation’s busiest transportation hubs, our users are worldwide travelers. With a major transfer point on Sutphin Boulevard at Jamaica Station, 260,000 visitors pass through Downtown Jamaica every day. In just 8 minutes, the Airtrain connects over 8,500 travelers between Downtown Jamaica and JFK International Airport daily. The Long Island Railroad (L.I.R.R) is recognized as the largest and oldest commuter railroad in America operating under its original name. 9 of 10 L.I.R.R lines stop on Sutphin Boulevard at Jamaica Station.  With 4 subway lines (E, F, J, Z) and 43 bus routes, The Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) accommodates riders 24 hours a day, 7 days a week – servicing the boroughs of Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens and the Bronx.

Home to the Civil and Supreme Court Houses, Sutphin Boulevard is a destination and prime for future development. Built in 1997, the award winning Queens Civil Courthouse, composed of limestone, granite and glass, has a public plaza on Sutphin Boulevard. With two wings, a common glass-encased lobby and an auditorium that seats 230 people for jury selection, the Queens Civil Court not only houses Civil Court, but also Small Claims Court, and Landlord/Tenant court for Queens County. The New York State Supreme Court is adjacent the Queens Civil Courthouse on Sutphin Boulevard.

The Resorts World Casino (RWC) Red Express, Jamaica Depot station is the newest addition to Sutphin Boulevard. 7,000 people per week use this shuttle bus service to RWC. People can take advantage of this FREE shuttle bus service to RWC 7 days a week from 8am – 12am. The RWC Red Express – Jamaica Depot station provides FREE Wi-Fi, RWC advertising about upcoming events and promotions, restrooms, vending machines and a water fountain. Buses run every 20 to 25 minutes, seat 28 passengers and makes 24 trips per day. Pick up location is at 93-41 Sutphin Boulevard.

The BID offers a vast array of services for its members, comprising: financial services, legal services, realty services, optical services, child care services, apparel shops, cafes, health and wellness centers and more. With funding specifically allocated for the improvement of the commercial area elected officials, community members and local stakeholders are working together diligently to optimize the Sutphin Boulevard experience. With groundbreaking infrastructure projects already underway Sutphin Boulevard is at the core of economic revitalization and is projected to be Jamaica’s most invigorating public space.
